Addressing Global Environmental Problems
In recent years, various unusual weather events caused by human economic activity, such as global warming, have occurred throughout the world and have now become a threat to earth and humanity. Forests can absorb carbon dioxide, a cause of global warming, and can generate and emit oxide; however, they are continuously being lost due to illegal logging and for other reasons. Individual countries acting alone cannot deal with global environmental problems; cross-border cooperation is essential.
We at Pantech are eager to help resolve global environmental problems, and have thought about what each of us can do toward that end. The answer was to conduct forest volunteer activities. We are associating ourselves with and supporting a tree-planting program by the Himalayan Green Club, an incorporated nonprofit organization, and are participating in a volunteer activity for maintaining “Isaki Fureai Forest,” a national forest on Isaki Peninsula in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture.
