There are many different types of materials that fall under the term "plastic."
These diverse materials cannot be collected and recycled without extensive expertise, experience and access to a global network of specialists. Pantech provides all of the above.
Professionals in processing plastic
We recycle 5,000 tons a month. Rather than providing a service for a specific type of resin, we deal with all manner of resins produced by clients. It will be possible only if all channels have been secured through strong relationships with our many partner plants in Japan, China, and ASEAN countries. Having secured this broad market, we are able to deal with not only general-purpose resin, but many other types such as super engineering plastic and composite material. We pride ourselves in our ability to provide an all-round assessment of the resin, looking at its properties, shape, attached matter, and contaminants, and then propose a solution that is based on our broad perspective and flexible thinking rather than being caught up in traditional recycling methods and market mores.
Research into the trends in the recycling of raw materials
We undertake independent research and monthly reports concerning the ever-changing waste plastic market to determine current trends, needs, and the situation with virgin materials, etc. We then send this information to our waste-producing clients. We do not consider the waste plastic we handle to be discarded products no longer of any use to the world markets. Instead, we consider them to be valuable raw resources. We often hear people saying that they would like these valuable resources marketed at a high price and in a transparent fashion.
To meet this desire, Pantech occasionally dispatches staff overseas to gather data for reports so that we can provide clients with a fresher picture of what is going on.
Effective utilization of waste plastic warehouses
Many of the places used for storing plastic materials are not very spacious. We design and position collection boxes in a way that corresponds to the needs of waste-producing companies, taking into account a wide variety of factors, including the properties of the plastic materials, the amount generated, electric wire design, the workability of sorting methods, and frequency of collections. We provide solutions that give consideration to environmental maintenance of storage space, thereby contributing to efficient plant operation.
Compliance, inspection preparedness
It is imperative that one fully confirm whether or not waste plastic contains any hazardous substances. Pantech assesses and categorizes the quality of materials from various angles, including the import restrictions and the Basel Convention.
To ensure that users do not face any problems after the plastic is used as raw material, we devise the most appropriate recycling schemes, which include suggestions for sorting methods. We make regular visits to users of the raw materials and to processing subcontractors and carry out inspections there to ensure that facilities and equipment, as well as the processing of materials, are in line with legal requirements of the countries concerned. We check the appropriateness of supply volume, material types, material properties, etc., and strive to construct a recycling flow that is safe and transparent.
Provision of collection boxes and recycling facilities
Pantech can provide proposals to waste-producing companies concerning the effective utilization of the limited space they have for storing plastic and valuables.
We examine the generated resins, amount generated, shape, and packaging, and then propose the best solutions to the waste-producing company; solutions that will facilitate regular and stable plastic shipment and contribute to efficient and safe recycling. For example, we will introduce flexible containers, post pallets, or collection boxes, depending on the space requirements and situation of the company.
Re-commodification of waste plastic
Through our work in providing optimum recycling solutions to many companies, we have accumulated our own reserve of raw materials.
Raw material costs account for a large proportion of product costs. Because Pantech has the means to keep raw material costs in check, we can contribute to development and marketing of products made from recycled materials.
Pantech provides a wide-ranging solutions service for waste plastic recycling both inside and outside Japan, including support for the procurement of materials from a global perspective, suggestions for compound materials to suit the needs of the client, and suggestions for plastic products.
