「プラスチックごみ問題に関する国連環境計画シンポジウム～海洋プラスチックごみ削減を目指して～」に参加致しました。

　この度5月22日ヒルトン大阪にて開催された、プラスチック廃棄物問題に関する「国連環境計画シンポジウム（国連環境計画（UNEP）主催）」に参加して参りました。

　来たる、G20大阪サミット(2019/6/28-6/29)への注目が世界中から集まる中、下記点について議論が交わされました。
①G20へのメッセージ
②プラスチック廃棄物の環境に配慮した運用の促進について（英語・日本語の同時通訳有り）
③IETC（国連環境技術センター）の包括的な廃棄物の管理における技術的な解決方法を、グローバルな視点で対談する機会をもつため

　プラスチック廃棄物問題に関する挑戦と解決策を重点に置いた、各企業や団体の洞察力に優れたプレゼンテーションが繰り広げられた中、加えて、E-waste(電子廃棄物)と有害廃棄物における包括的な廃棄物の管理へのアプローチとエネルギー化についての詳細も説明をされました。このシンポジウムに参加して、光栄なことに、スイス・バーゼル本部、スリランカの地方自治体、そしてベトナムの環境省の方々とお会いすることができました。自国にとどまらず、この問題を解決するためには世界各国の人々と交流を持ち続けることが必要であると感じました。
　今後も、こういった機会を逃さず積極的に参加していき、「地球環境に優しい企業」を目指し、俯瞰的立場からグローバルなプラスチックリサイクル、海洋プラスチックに関する情報の提供をして参ります。

The UNEP Symposium on Plastic Waste aimed to share information of the current status of plastic waste issues and expertise on good practices to manage plastic waste in an environmentally sound way. The symposium produced a message to G20 Osaka Summit (28-29 June 2019) and promoted environmentally management of plastic wastes. English-Japanese simultaneous interpretation was provided. The symposium was organized at the side lines of the IETC Global Dialogue with the Private Sector on Technology Solutions for Holistic Waste Management.

Insightful presentations (20) on Challenges and Solutions on Plastic Waste Management with Panelists as Osaka City, Kitakyushu City, Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd. and Showa Denko K.K. Emphasis was also given to the matter of it is Time to Act on Reducing Ocean Plastic. Followed by presentations on Technologic Solutions for Holistic Waste management oriented by “A global Dialogue with Private Sector”. The Holistic waste management approach had details exposed, as well as E-waste and Hazardous Waste treatment concluding with transformation of Waste onto Energy.

As per bonus of exchanges direct talks with Basel Representative person who gave advises regarding changes upcoming on regulations; Sri Lank participation for bridging with the market and Vietnamese Deputy for Ministry of Environment matters who showed openness to receive contact to better understand changes on policy by their market made worthy full day attendance.

A learning full event that hence need to keep in touch with gatherings rich in variety of intervention of such global concern. Sincerely envisioning future needed participation.
