Closed Loop
Overview
Implementation of a closed-loop system for materials emitted through business activities.
A closed-loop system that recycles plastics generated through business activities and reuses them within the company or group is an initiative that balances reducing environmental impact with creating economic value, and is a prime example of a circular economy.
At Pantech , we leverage our extensive knowledge and experience in plastic resource recycling, accumulated over 30 years, and our globally expanding network to design and operate closed-loop schemes—the ideal resource recycling model for manufacturers and emitters involved in the product lifecycle.
Capability
What we can offer
- 1
Building a closed-loop system for materials generated through business activities
We recycle plastics generated through our business activities into raw materials and remanufacture them into novelty items and materials for use within our company and group. This creates a closed-loop system that completes the resource recycling cycle within our own company.
- 2
Launching a circular economy manufacturing brand
Pantech possesses extensive knowledge cultivated through the launch and operation of circular manufacturing brands, such as "Filmate®︎," which pursues horizontal recycling of film products, and "ReTA BASE®︎," a lifestyle brand co-created with TRIFE DESIGN Inc. We provide total support for companies' circular manufacturing, from concept making to scheme construction.
- 3
Implementation of a resource recycling model based on centralized collection.
Responding to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), which means producers are responsible for everything from product disposal to recycling, is essential for future business activities. Pantech is building a system to efficiently collect "used plastics" at various locations such as stores, offices, and local governments. We support the implementation of a "location-based resource recycling model" that turns these plastics into recycled raw materials and regenerates them into novelty items and materials once again.
- 4
Contract development for recycling materials from company-owned waste products.
Reusing plastic waste generated during the manufacturing process as a "product raw material" is crucial not only for realizing a circular economy but also as a risk hedge against instability in raw material procurement and disruptions in the supply chain. Through co-creation with recyclers and compounders, we undertake contract development to transform waste materials into high-quality materials directly linked to future manufacturing.
Capability
Features and strengths
Closed-loop systems starting from tens of kilometers are also possible.
While plastic recycling is generally difficult for small quantities, it is possible to establish a closed-loop system even for items weighing tens of kilograms. Don't give up just because it's a small amount; please contact us for a consultation.
Collaboration with domestic and international product development partners
We have reliable manufacturing partners both domestically and internationally, and we select the optimal partner according to your budget, specifications, quantity, delivery date, and other requirements. Pantech acts as your point of contact, controlling the process from processing to finished product, thereby realizing a smooth, circular manufacturing system.
We can flexibly handle everything from one-off pieces to mass-produced items.
We handle a wide range of projects, from creating original and iconic prototypes to mass-produced materials, fixtures, and miscellaneous goods. From one-of-a-kind pieces to mass-produced items, we design optimal resource recycling regardless of application, purpose, or project scale.
Strict adherence to compliance
The biggest obstacle to implementing a "point-of-use resource recycling model" is the complex environmental regulations, such as the Waste Management Act. Based on our extensive experience working with major manufacturers, retailers, and commercial/tourist facilities, and collaborating with legal counsel specializing in environmental regulations, we will build a collection and operation scheme that ensures thorough compliance.
Workflow
Transaction process
- 1Interview
We will ask about the type, quantity, color, shape, and packaging of the resin used for the target item, as well as your current processing status and desired conditions for the final product, in order to organize your requirements and provide you with the best possible proposal.
- 2Signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
Even plastics that have served their purpose and are no longer needed often contain important confidential information for the companies that generate them. Therefore, we enter into Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) to ensure that both parties can confidently share confidential information such as traceability, processing conditions, and formulation information.
- 3Building a circular economy scheme
We select the most suitable domestic and international partners to handle the processes necessary for operating the circular economy scheme, such as collection, recycling, compounding, molding, and packaging, and then hold discussions with each company regarding its implementation.
- 4Compliance check
We will consult with our legal counsel to ensure that the envisioned recycling scheme complies with relevant laws and regulations, thereby establishing a foundation for a safe and secure recycling scheme.
- 5Estimate provided
We will clearly define the costs based on the entire circular scheme and propose the most suitable terms.
- 6Conclusion of various contracts
We will conclude various contracts, such as consignment processing agreements and sales agreements, in accordance with the circular economy scheme, and officially launch the project.
- 7Prototype
We will create prototypes of recycled raw materials and final products, and verify their physical properties and the quality of the final products.
- 8Closed-loop operation
We will implement a complete scheme of collection → recycling into raw materials → product manufacturing, thereby realizing a closed-loop system where resources circulate within our company and group.
